A unique practice.

Here, you’ll find a detailed overview of working in our offices in China. We’d also like to explore the more emotive side of joining us – what it actually feels like to be part of such a high-calibre firm who deliver time after time in an increasingly sophisticated marketplace. And, if you want to see how the team fits into the broader, international scale of things, you can visit our global pages.

Linklaters is an international law firm that blends US, UK, Japanese and Chinese expertise across all practice areas. Our Greater China practice includes offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, and the wider Asian network incorporates Bangkok and Singapore (where we’ve been named the top firm for the last 18 years) and offers the talents of 70 Mandarin speakers and full execution capability at the most senior level. We also have a major Bengoshi presence in Japan and an Indian joint venture. No other law firm has this capability and footprint.

Our approach too is rather unusual. We’ve made a conscious decision to combine People’s Republic of China lawyers with international talent. Local professionals use their understanding of Chinese law and their cultural know-how to add strength and expertise to complex, global deals. Essentially, it means that Chinese lawyers receive exactly the same client-facing exposure and development opportunities as their international colleagues.

Chambers 2006 voted us ‘Asia Law Firm of the Year’ for two years running, (an award that we’ve added to a bursting trophy cabinet); our clients (which include Fortune 500 companies, international investment banks, multinational conglomerates and government bodies) choose us when the terrain is most difficult and complex and our people are always quick to express the tremendous rush of joining a firm like this.
