Learning & development

In Hong Kong, there’s a mixture of global and local training to ensure that people are fully equipped with the skills to do the job. Broadly speaking, training covers two categories: technical and soft skills.

Colleagues are flown to London to attend various foundation courses, and there are lunchtime seminars to fill you in on local knowledge. We also offer other courses via tele-meeting and video streaming. Flying to London is time-consuming, so we also have regional courses, mainly for use during career transitions so that we can educate people about their new role, and how to establish themselves.

In Business Services, there are around 20 commercial awareness sessions on offer, which share knowledge about the wider firm. Business Services colleagues can learn about current activities which lawyers are engaged in, the particular clients that we’re focusing on, exactly what each deal involves, and so on. This provides Business Services professionals with a thorough grounding so they are aligned with the legal team, and very much part of the action.
