The very best kind of challenge

Recruiting, retaining and developing the very best talent is pivotal to our success as a firm and as a business. Arguably, this is a challenge at its most intense in London. Competition is fierce, and the net we cast broad – people join us from all over the world here, and come with a vast range of different backgrounds.

That is both the challenge and the reward of an HR career at Linklaters. You will be working in an office filled to the brim with top, top talent. And you will enjoy real visibility across the firm. Expectations can be high, and there are many issues to be tackled. For example, how can we increase global interaction in the firm still further? How can we attract and retain the best people in what is a buoyant and active recruitment marketplace? How do we develop incentives and benefits that mark us apart from our competitors?

The opportunity to prove yourself, take on bigger initiatives and contribute to large-scale, cross-functional projects here is unrivalled. And you won’t be on your own. On a local and global level, there’s a great deal of interaction and knowledge sharing. Our London team in particular is incredibly close-knit, and we often go out on social events and retreats together. What’s more, every two weeks, we hold departmental meeting, where we share knowledge and information. Every month, there’s an internal HR conference call with offices the world over. Similarly, there are frequent yearly and monthly get-togethers in each department. It’s also a very supportive environment: if you don’t know something, the chances are there will be someone who does.

Human Resources in London is split into practice specific teams as well as a central graduate team, a training and development team, partner HR and a global resourcing team.
