The expertise behind the experts

Leading the market will take more than just raw talent. We need the knowledge, the resources and the behind-the-scene expertise to back it up. That is the challenge for our knowhow and information team:  providing that crucial cutting edge.

In our London Head Office, Knowhow and Information consists of a multi-disciplinary team who manage our systems, processes, standards and methodologies. These include project managers, IT and knowledge professionals, designers and training and development experts. It’s a relatively small team, but with a broad remit covering new projects, international liaison and process improvements. It’s also part of a wider, 100-strong global virtual team - which means that you’ll enjoy an expansive view, wide-ranging collaboration and even opportunities to move globally.

Because of the sheer size of our legal department in London, there are Information Units for each of our legal practices. Within these, we tend to work in small teams of librarians, knowledge professionals, researchers and indexers. We also have many highly trained and experienced Professional Support Lawyers who work within practice areas to support the other lawyers with training, technical expertise and guidance. Many also work closely with clients to help them keep informed of legal developments and best practice.

As you might imagine, this is about more than just books or online resources. What we do here is often far more strategic. For example, our big project at the moment involves working with colleagues in Marketing and ISS to develop a system whereby over 50,000 matters can be searched on a global basis for knowhow, expertise and marketing information. These are solutions that are vital to the future of the firm. We need people with the energy and creative thinking to take innovation at Linklaters even further.
