The expertise of our global law firm isn’t limited to law. Our business also relies on the ideas and experience of people in finance, human resources, information technology, knowhow & information, marketing, operations and, of course, our secretarial staff.
Our New York office is pivotal to the way we manage business services within our U.S. practice. The New York office provides knowhow and information support to our U.S. associates based in the Americas, Europe and Asia and coordinates U.S. practice recruitment around the world. Many of the practice’s worldwide administration, marketing and human resource functions are handled from New York.
New York is also home to business teams managing finance, information systems and strategy and operations. And as elsewhere in the firm, professional secretarial support is a key component of our lawyers’ success. Whatever your professional background or international ambitions, our New York office could be your starting point.

In New York we have the following business services teams:
Finance
Integral to our commercial success, our finance teams provide us with up-to-the-minute financial information. This area requires highly motivated finance professionals with extensive business experience.
Information Systems & Strategy (ISS)
Our ISS teams create the custom-made business applications that help give Linklaters its competitive edge. They define our global IT strategy and support every desktop application for every Linklaters user in every one of our offices worldwide. ISS looks at how we use technology and then develops innovative ways for us to do more; which benefits our clients and ensures that we have a robust and technically advanced infrastructure the world over.
Knowhow & Information
Coordinating the efficient sharing of information globally within our firm, this area provides our lawyers with fast access to invaluable legal, business and governmental information. This function includes many of our Practice Support Lawyers (PSLs) and Information Officers.
Marketing
In a highly competitive legal marketplace, well-targeted marketing is business-critical. Our marketing team turns first-class market research and analysis into effective campaigns and communication tools, promoting Linklaters to diverse audiences worldwide. It’s also where planning and client management capabilities are refined and strengthened.
Human Resources
We aim to recruit, retain, develop and guide the very best lawyers and business experts in their fields. Working to achieve this is our human resources function, which designs and implements people-based initiatives. Many of those working to recruit, train and develop our legal and support staff have come from equivalent functions within other similarly large and complex organizations. These professionals help bring our values to life through a range of courses, programs and general advice, all of which add up to a consistent level and quality of service to our clients wherever they may be.
Operations
Consisting of everything from facilities management to internal customer services, Operations is a key part of our business support infrastructure. Our team combines its knowledge and expertise to keep the day-to-day fundamentals of our business running smoothly. The team includes receptionists, facilities and catering staff and those involved with all aspects of document production and lawyer support.
