When he spent time in our New York and London offices as a Summer Associate after his second year of law school at New York University, Francisco was impressed with his colleagues’ expertise, knowledge and talent. After seven years working in the New York office's Tax group, he’s just as impressed.

“I provide U.S. tax advice for Mergers & Acquisitions, general restructurings and Debt & Equity transactions. Often that’s for deals run purely out of our European or Asian region with a U.S. tax component. Which is the great thing about a truly global firm – we’re all working towards the same goals and trust each other’s expertise implicitly. When you can say to clients, ‘I don’t know the answer to that, but let me talk to my colleague in Brazil,’ they can rest assured that they’re dealing with experts.

“We learn a lot from each other, which is why we’re encouraged to spend time in different offices around the world. I spend about a third of my time in London. It’s not a case of flying in for meetings and straight back out, I’m typically in the UK for two to three months at a time. I’ve also visited clients across continental Europe, especially Spain and Poland.

“I feel privileged to be part of this firm. Although I work hard and put in the hours, in such a collaborative culture I know I’ll be rewarded and recognized for the contribution I make.”
