Susanne joined Linklaters in November 2006 after finishing her PhD.

“I think one of the best things about working for Linklaters is definitely the connection you feel with other offices. We’ve got a team of about twenty people in the tax department in Munich, but due to the type of work we do, we’re constantly working with colleagues in other offices. Whether that’s New York or Paris, I’ve found that you build up really strong relationships with people who are based hundreds or thousands of miles from you. It’s part of why I think Linklaters has such a strong offering. The type of clients we work with demand this type of joined-up approach. They’re looking for solutions that minimise risk – and it’s only by working closely with other offices that you can achieve this.

From a personal perspective, I’ve been given a lot of responsibility from day one. Although having said that, there’s always been the support network in place if I’ve ever needed it. Yes, the deals are high-profile and they are challenging, but if that’s the sort of work that you thrive on, then it’s a fantastic place to carve out a career.”
