Arnaud Coibion started at Linklaters after his LLM, has worked in our Belgian and London offices and is now Partner in our Corporate practice. It is the scope to develop and the training that goes with it - that interests him most.

"Since I joined, I have seen a steady development in the role I take in transactions and in the management of our business. As an associate, I started by working on due diligence, then I began to co-ordinate and negotiate transactions. As a Partner, I now manage bigger teams and develop client relationships but I was trained to take that role over my years as an associate."

"At each stage of your career, you know what is expected of you, and there is always ample training to develop your skills and knowledge. As well as technical training locally here in Belgium — along with departmental meetings to share knowledge, debate topics and discuss transactions — there are many initiatives and courses available on a firm-wide basis. Representatives from different offices are often brought together to attend training, which also allows you to build up a broader legal understanding and a wide network of contacts at your level."

"Of course, you also learn from the people around you. It sounds cheesy, but team spirit here really is strong. It’s rare that people with such diverse interests and backgrounds blend so well together, but at Linklaters it works."
