Sophie Harith-Kassim has worked for Linklaters in both London and Singapore, where she is now a Managing Associate in the Mainstream Corporate practice. Here, she talks about Linklaters’ approach to these different parts of the world.
“I have been very impressed by the sheer level of commitment Linklaters has shown in this part of the world. Not only do they display a satisfying attention to detail – making sure that the offices are a pleasant working environment, for example – they also have an admirable focus on the long term. Even when the economy was not as strong, the firm was still committed to building and growing their offering out in Singapore.
“My involvement in the London and Singapore offices has been, of course, very different. Because the Singapore office is much smaller, I have much more involvement in areas such as marketing and recruitment – it’s much more hands-on.
“One of Linklaters’ key strengths is that there is such a diverse range of talent here, working together. In the same office, you will often find professionals from every corner of the globe, with a variety of different backgrounds, knowledge, skills and perspectives to call on. Seeing everyone pull together to get something done gives me a real sense of satisfaction.”
