Elizabeth first joined Linklaters as a summer associate, splitting her time between our London and New York offices. The following year she returned to the Litigation department in New York as an associate. She’s particularly impressed by the range and depth of work she’s had the opportunity to get involved in.
“I don’t do all my work from my desk in New York. Our Litigation practice is booming and it’s taken me to several different places, in particular the UK. I’ve spent a lot of time in our London office, and the experience was really worthwhile. When in London, I’ve worked on matters where I’ve been the ‘face of Linklaters’, dealing directly with the client and another law firm. Yes, it challenged me, but it also stretched me.
“Although I love the global aspect of my job, I’m becoming a more rounded lawyer in other ways. For example, as in most big law firms, most of our cases settle out of court. But I’ve had the chance to take on pro-bono work and develop a different set of legal skills. That kind of breadth and depth makes me proud to work here.”
