The term partner in relation to Linklaters LLP is used to refer to a member of Linklaters LLP or an employee or consultant of Linklaters LLP or any of its affiliated firms or entities with equivalent standing and qualifications. The Swedish partners are all members of the Swedish Bar Association ("advokat"). Associates with the profession "advokat" are also members of the Swedish Bar Association. According to Chapter 8, § 4, para. 1 of the Code of Civil Procedure, a member of the Swedish Bar Association shall in carrying out his/her practice perform assignments entrusted to him/her honourably and diligently and in all matters comply with professional ethics. The requirements of professional ethics are not set out in greater detail, either in the Code of Civil Procedure or in the Charter of the Swedish Bar Association. Rules on this have been developed within the Bar and have been expressed in rulings by the Council and the Disciplinary Committee of the Bar Association. A codification of the rules may be found in the Code of Conduct for Lawyers, issued by the Council of the Swedish Bar Association on 9 November 1984.
