In 2007 Linklaters launched its innovative Global Summer Students’ programme. The programme gives talented law students from around the world a taste of life as a Linklaters lawyer in London and this year many of our offices are taking part. If you have the ambition to work on the most important and complex deals across multiple jurisdictions, this year could be your chance to gain a similar insight.
We created this intensive, London-based, two-week programme of activities to identify and attract the best global talent for our firm. For students on summer placements at one of our offices globally, it’s a chance to find out whether Linklaters is the right place to start your legal career. For a minimum of four weeks in total (two in London and at least two more in your home country), you’ll experience valuable practical training and gain both confidence and contacts from the start.
In the first week, you’ll build on your knowledge of our firm and your awareness of the commercial environment of the City of London. You’ll tour our buildings, attend presentations and develop your legal knowledge in a range of engaging practical tutorials. And thanks to involvement from the College of Law and a huge number of people within Linklaters, you’ll get the full picture of the firm from a variety of perspectives.
During the second week, you’ll experience real working life in one of our practice areas and complete a group research project to bring what you’ve learnt to life. You’ll gain a highly commercial insight, adding to what you have learnt at university.
Whilst the activity of the programme is intense, we also ensure it’s enjoyable. Getting to know fellow students is a huge part of the experience, so, for the two-week duration, we’ll house you in apartments with your peers and you’ll experience a range of networking and social events that ensure your stay is unforgettable.
