More than just a foundation

There is a huge range of training available for you here – encompassing online learning, live meetings on the intranet, and traditional courses and seminars. How much of it you take advantage of will be entirely down to your individual interests and drive.

It is of course, all tailored to your role and needs. At assistant or administrator level, you will benefit from a Foundation Skills Course, a two-day global programme which will augment your communication, client service and financial skills. Because you’ll be taking this course with other professionals at your level, it’s also a chance to build up a network of contacts, which will help you throughout your career with us.

At advisor or consultant level, we offer a global advisory skills course. Again, this will develop your client service skills – but it will also give you a rare and valuable insight into your own personality, preferences and way of working. Our people find it a vital tool in helping them tackle problems that are outside of their comfort zone.

Over the course of your career, there is much you can benefit from. If you are looking to become a manager (or even a better manager), you might take a two-day Building Client Relationships course, which focuses on both client service and broader management, influencing and coaching skills. We’ve also formed a Management Development Centre for those with supervisory responsibility: this involves two and a half days culminating in a written report on your performance, with areas for development constructively highlighted and discussed. Finally, senior managers can expect a three-day strategy and change leadership course, which is based on a training programme designed by the Harvard Business School, and will give you the strategic and leadership qualities you need to succeed at the very highest level.

These core programmes are supported by a broad range of optional programmes, which will develop ‘softer’ skill sets, such as presentation, influencing or training.
