What was your route into Linklaters?

I joined Linklaters as a part-time Managing Associate from another global law firm. I worked three or four days a week for 12 years and during that time I was promoted to Counsel, before coming back full time and eventually being made Partner. I can proudly say that I have experienced all of the various flexible arrangements that the firm has to offer.

What did you decide to work part time?

I requested that part-time working pattern for family reasons, mainly to spend more time with my children who were young at the time. I’m also a keen horse rider, which helps me to keep perspective within my job and with my mental health, so I was able to balance my professional life with my treasured hobbies.

What has made you stay at Linklaters?

The high performing culture has kept me here. I really thrive on the mental stimulation my colleagues provide, working alongside motivated, committed and talented people. Linklaters has a very supportive culture where we look out for each other, understand boundaries and everyone aims to achieve the same goals for our clients.

Why do you think our clients pick us?

Clients choose us because we are commercial lawyers. We don't just discuss textbook law; we put ourselves in the client’s shoes and understand the concerns driving them. This enables us to tailor our advice in a practical, understandable, and cost-effective way.

Are you part of any internal network?

I am a proud member of the Environment Team. We undertake lots of fun and practical projects; for example, we introduced waste recycling bins in our office and food waste recycling bins for spare food from lunches. We also looked at office temperature management to make colleagues comfortable while achieving energy efficiency.

I am also very involved in mentoring colleagues and am really invested in seeing our talent develop and thrive.
