Prior to studying law, I obtained a business degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and started my career in banking. After I decided to pursue a legal career, I completed a Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) in the UK and first joined Linklaters as a summer vacation scheme student in 2018. I then proceeded to take the Postgraduate Certificate in Laws (PCLL) at the University of Hong Kong in 2020 and started my training contract in September 2021.

The training programme at Linklaters is structured and extensive. My first seat was at Antitrust and Foreign Investment and I am now at my second seat in Mainstream Corporate. Over the past nine months, I have been exposed to a wide range of cutting-edge works and ground-breaking deals, ranging from advising the client on the first market abuse case before the Competition Tribunal in Hong Kong to a telecom megamerger in Thailand. As a trainee, you will be given real responsibilities but at the same time you will get an equal amount of support from a diverse mix of talents at the firm. I believe it is the people-oriented vision and collaborative culture which truly set us apart.

Life at Linklaters is not all about work. It is a place which allows personal growth and professional development. At Linklaters, I can bring my true self to work and feel valued as a team member, regardless of my academic or family background. Being part of the Diversity and Inclusion network and an LGBT+ ally, I have opportunities to work with the team on a wide range of initiatives to promote an inclusive workplace and awareness on gender diversity. Apart from that, there are always food and drinks and a good variety of events where we can connect with colleagues across different practice groups.
