After spending the summer at the firm in 2006, I joined Linklaters as an associate in 2007. During my time here I’ve been seconded to the Litigation and Investigations team at the Royal Bank of Scotland in the U.S, as well as our Financial Regulation Group in London.

Thirteen years on from my initial introduction to Linklaters, and I am still here! Now my time is split fairly evenly between contentious regulatory matters and civil litigation and arbitration.

There are many reasons that I have chosen to stay at Linklaters. The breadth and depth of our network gives rise to some unique challenges. As a truly global, interconnected and collaborative team, we are exposed to a wide cross-section of industries, geographies, cultures and perspectives. Everyone shares a commitment to delivering outstanding client results, and every day you will be given the opportunity to broaden your personal and professional experience, making you a better lawyer.

The people I work with are also key to my job satisfaction. Intellectually curious and passionate about their work, their talent is a constant source of pride and motivation – and through Linklaters I have made many lifelong friendships.

I’ve spent my entire professional career here because I’ve found a place that is professionally fulfilling, challenging, and ultimately makes me happy – but I also know many happy and successful people who have used their Linklaters career as a launching pad to a wide array of fields. So I would encourage any students thinking of joining Linklaters to do so, and I would advise them to remain open to the multitude of opportunities the firm can provide. I can’t predict where it might ultimately take you, but I’m confident it will be enriching and fulfilling time well spent.
