Linklaters in Korea

Rather than specialise in just one area, we’re proud at Linklaters to have leading practices in Corporate, Finance and Projects, and Dispute Resolution, around the world. It’s testament to the strong relationships we build. And it means that wherever you ultimately focus, you’ll be involved in the very best work.

We have been active in Korea for over 30 years, advising the leading Korean and international corporations and financial institutions. And with the opening of our Seoul office in July 2013, we’re able to leverage our unique international capabilities to provide clients with unrivalled full service capability across key practice areas.

Advising on US and English law with a detailed understanding of the regulatory and business environment in Korea, our principal areas of practice include mergers and acquisitions, private equity, foreign direct investment, outbound investment, corporate finance, capital markets, projectsenergy and infrastructure, and banking and finance.

Major international transactions include a US$20bn LNG project financing in Russia, involving KEXIM, K-Sure, Chinese and Russian banks as well as major corporations Total, Novatek and CNPC. We’ve also recently advised Kookmin Bank on its global statutory covered bond programme. It's a first in the Korean market, and one of the most innovative deals of the last few years.

Making it all possible are our people. People that share our vision and our values, are global in outlook and get on well with our diverse clients. Bold, creative, entrepreneurial people. People who are willing to go the extra mile. But it's how our people work together that makes all the difference. Our culture is based on teamwork. We enjoy working together to solve the most complex problems, inspiring confidence in clients – and in each other – across the world. And it's paying dividends. Recent awards for our market-leading practice include:
